Movie review: In Search of the Castaways

In Search of the Castaways

Robert Stevenson (1962)

Yet another movie I’ve seen too many times to count.

In this second Jules Verne adaptation by Disney, this movie moves from the grim tone of 20 000 leagues Under the Sea for a much more light-hearted, family-fun story about two kids travelling the world in search of their castaway father.

The Bad: A few succession of events are downright goofy, some effects look very dated now

The Good: This movie really takes you places, following the heroes as they journey from one continent to another, Maurice Chevalier steals the show as overly french Professor Paganel

My opinion: Trapped in nostalgia once again, it’s a bit silly, but it’s a lot of fun
